Call for Expressions of Interest for the Position of Coordinator Professional Education Field School (May–November 2025)

Support the organization of Professional Workshops on Port City Territories in the Netherlands and in Morocco in September and October 2025

We are seeking a dynamic Coordinator to join our team for the organization and delivery of a professional Field School in Morocco, taking place in October 2025. This role is ideally suited for someone who can reach out to diverse publics in the field of port city territories. The candidate is expected to reach out to relevant institutions to build a group of learners. We expect the candidate to have a strong sense of initiative, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to support cross-cultural, interdisciplinary collaboration. The role is ideal for someone who has already gained relevant coordination experience.

About the Role
This temporary position (with flexibility around exact starting and end dates) involves supporting the coordination of two international professional summer schools focusing on port city territories and value-based methodologies. The successful candidate will work closely with the academic teams in the Netherlands and Morocco to assist in outreach, support the development of materials, and manage logistics in preparation.

Key tasks include:

  • Coordinating planning and organizational efforts ahead of the September and October Workshops.
  • Supporting external engagement and outreach to partners, professionals and institutions to build a group of learners.
  • Assisting in managing logistics, scheduling, travel, and documentation processes.
  • Supporting internal communication and workflow with a small team of student assistants and project collaborators.
  • Contributing to digital presence and visibility efforts (experience with or interest in social media, newsletters, and promotion is a plus).

Desired Profile

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge/awareness of the field of ports, cities and territories
  • Proactive mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch and/or French/Arabic is an advantage.
  • Experience working with academic or cultural institutions.
  • Experience in coordination, project support, or professional event planning.  
  • Confident in representing the project independently in professional meetings, including in-person engagements with external potential partners. 

Location & Timing
This is a part-time role (exact hours/pay to be discussed) at the Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Delft University of Technology, running from May to November 2025, with a peak in activity around the September and October Field Schools.
