I am Assistant Professor of the History and Social Sciences Institute at Universidad Austral de Chile, Valdivia. I hold a PhD from the Department of Government, Essex University (UK) and an Mphil in Cultural Studies from the University of Birmingham (UK), and an MA in Political Science from the Pontifical Catholic University (Chile). I studied History and got a BA in Aesthetics from the Pontifical Catholic University.
My research interests include sociology and theories of (post)development, Latin American politics and culture; port cities; industrial relations and citizenship.
